What are some of the causes of skin problems in pets?
The causes of skin problems fall under two categories: external or internal.
External causes include parasites (ticks, fleas, etc.), bacteria, fungi, irritants or environments that are either too dry or too humid.
Internal causes typically involve allergies, chronic or hormonal diseases or hormonal imbalances.
What symptoms of skin or coat problems should I watch out for?
Massive hair loss, sores (scabs, dandruff, rashes), intense itching and frequent ear infections are the main symptoms of skin problems in pets.
